The only success i have had is getting lucky and seeing 1080p there sometimes. if you go into doom with the low res and try to set it higher, it might work and show you all the options, it might show you one option, or might show everything in between.
If you go in while the game is running into pc settings on the os you see the option for 1080 is still there but will not switch until you kill the game.
I have tried running it as admin, repairing the game, changing settings for graphics in game, restarting both PC's, and use the -autoconfig command for steam games to try and run it at the recommended settings detected by my hardware. As you also may have noticed, the default resolution settings of Doom 3 have a 4:3 or 5:4 aspect ratio. The issue is as soon as doom is launched from either PC I have, laptop with a 960m 4gb or a 980ti desktop pc, it will default to the smallest resolution it has, along with changing my PC's resolution for the monitor that is currently running the game or just in general for the laptop.
